Dimitris Melachroinos is the Founder and CEO of Spitogatos, one of the leading real estate marketplaces in Southeastern Europe. The company operates under various brands across Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Malta, and Albania, holding the number one position in most of these markets.

He founded Spitogatos in 2006 after gaining experience in finance in the UK and the US. Since then, the company has gone through significant growth and transformation. In 2009, Spitogatos became the first Greek tech startup to raise venture capital, and in 2014 it joined the Luxembourg-based Real Web group, which invests in digital marketplaces across Europe and owns Immobiliare.it, Italy’s leading property portal. Spitogatos has since expanded through key acquisitions, including tospitimou.gr (Greece), srbija-nekretnine.org (Serbia), Nepremicnine.net (Slovenia), and Crozilla.com (Croatia). In 2024, it also invested in IMS (Greece’s top mortgage broker) and Fortunet (the leading real estate CRM platform in Greece). Dimitris holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Piraeus and an MBA from the University of Rochester, New York.
